Traditional key holders are noisy, disorganized, and often uncomfortable to carry. They scratch other objects in our pocket or bag and make it hard to find the key you need, when you need it. Key holders were creted as an alternative, but they haven’t evolved much. We were commissioned by an entrepreneur to reimagine this overlooked object. Together we created Keyo: a compact and minimal key organizer inspired by the functionality of multi-cartridge pens. Each of the three keys stored inside can be deployed individually with a smooth sliding mechanism—one click, one key. Keyo’s design reduces the clutter and sound associated with traditional key holders. By housing the keys inside a durable plastic shell, it prevents external damage and keeps everything in place. The body is lightweight, compact, and available in a range of colors to fit different styles and preferences. The internal holder have been designed to fit many shapes of key heads. The length of the device has been developed based on the research of the most common key sizes on the market, allowing the users to install theys keys without the need to machine new keys for the device.
