This handle was designed for the “Hands on Door Handles” design competition by Colombo and Designboom.

FAT CUT was one of the shortlisted projects in this competition.

The idea behind this handle was to build it the other way round, by adding material where commercial handles have subtracted it.

Starting from the base, the volume is filled and then the shape of the handle is carved inside. The result is a strong shape from the top view and a sleek volume in the front view.
